Chinese search giant set to launch its own version of ChatGPT

Baidu’s preparing a response to ChatGPT – and it’s coming out very soon.

Baidu, also known as China’s Google, is preparing its own version of ChatGPT that will launch in March this year.

Baidu’s artificial intelligence chatbot, still unnamed, will be integrated into its search product. It will provide conversational responses to user queries, delivering tailored answers similar to how ChatGPT operates.

According to Bloomberg, new Baidu’s chatbot will be based on ‘Ernie’ – Enhanced Representation through kNowledge IntEgration. This is a natural language processor with 10 billion parameters.

Baidu’s new chatbot comes as a response to ChatGPT which has become a global sensation since its launch in November last year.

Baidu’s response to ChatGPT is coming sooner than Google’s new AI product.

Earlier this month, AI news reported Google is speeding up the launches of their AI products. The first one is set to be a rival to ChatGPT, with a launch date in May.

Microsoft and OpenAI are joining forces to incorporate OpenAI technology into Bing. Taking into account the global popularity and millions of users that ChatGPT has on a daily basis, that could challenge Google’s dominance. According to AI news, that’s what raised the alarms at Google and prompted the decision to speed up the launches of AI solutions.
